Instructions:

  1. Begin by melting your candle wax in a double boiler or in a heat-safe bowl over a pot of boiling water. Make sure to stir the wax regularly to prevent it from scorching.

  2. Once the wax is melted, add any candle dye or fragrance oil that you want to use. Stir well to ensure that the color and scent are evenly distributed.

  3. Allow the wax to cool slightly until it reaches a temperature of about 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

  4. Pour the melted wax into a heat-resistant bowl and place the bowl into a larger bowl filled with ice water.

  5. Begin whisking the wax vigorously with a whisk or electric mixer. The goal is to incorporate air into the wax, which will cause it to become whipped and frothy.

  6. Continue whisking the wax until it becomes thick and creamy. You should be able to see soft peaks forming when you lift the whisk out of the wax.

  7. Once the wax is whipped to your desired consistency, you can use it to make your candles. Pour it into your candle molds or containers and allow it to cool and harden completely.

Note: Whipped wax can be a bit more difficult to work with than regular candle wax. It may not adhere to the sides of your container as well, so you may need to use a wick-centring device or other tools to ensure that your wick stays centred in the candle. It may also be more prone to cracking or splitting if it cools too quickly, so take care to cool it slowly in a cool, draft-free environment.

  1. You can create interesting textures and designs with whipped wax by using a piping bag and nozzle to pipe the wax onto the surface of the candle. You can also create swirls and other patterns by gently swirling the whipped wax with a toothpick or other tool.

  2. Once the whipped wax has fully hardened, you can trim the wick and enjoy your unique and beautiful candle.

Tips:

  • Experiment with different colors and fragrances to create custom candles that match your decor or your personal style.

  • If the whipped wax becomes too thick or difficult to work with, you can place the bowl back into the ice water for a few minutes to cool it down and make it more pliable.

  • It's important to be careful when handling hot wax, as it can cause burns and other injuries. Always wear protective gloves and work in a well-ventilated area.

By following these steps, you can create stunning whipped wax candles that are sure to impress. Don't be afraid to get creative and experiment with different colours, fragrances, cutesy cupcakes and textures to make candles that are truly one-of-a-kind.
